Fuji Dump: Chesapeake Bay
Recently my wife and I took a trip to Chesapeake Bay just to chill and sun bathe while we read some books. As always, I took some photos with the trusty Fuji X100VI while we were there. I did a few portraits of people working at some shops along the main street of the town of Kilmarnock. While I think I still prefer a full frame system, at least for this type of work, I did really enjoy chatting with them and getting to know a bit of their stories. I always want more depth than the little X100VI can give me but it’s trying it’s hardest.
I’ll leave you with this. I finished a book on our trip I’ve been reading called The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius. He was a 6th century Roman Christian who was falsely imprisoned for treason and eventually executed. While imprisoned he asked questions like, “What is true happiness?” and “What is true justice?”
A quote from the end of the book that I’ve been mulling over says, “All fortune whether pleasant or adverse is meant either to reward or discipline the good or to punish or correct the bad…and so all fortune is good.” I’m still chewing on that one. Didn’t think you’d get some photos and existential thoughts did ya?
